New Balance
The history of New Balance starts in 1906 in Boston, Massachusetts and is clesely connected with William J. Riley, an English immigrant. Giving the people the best walking comfort was his business.
The story passed down that the idea of "New Balance" started when Riley observed chickens in his garden. He was fascinated by the fact that the chickens were able to hold the perfect balance with only three claws. With this inspiration he started to optimize the build-up of present shoes.
Since 1978 they also produce shoes in Europe - the first three years in an existing plant in Ireland. In 1981 an own factory was built in Workington, England. Still today New Balance produces in Flimby, England.
